The school library is located at the top of either staircase. Mrs. Stevens is the librarian and looks forward to meeting everyone.
Please visit the library often.
The purpose of the Saco Middle School library is to:
Supplement the curriculum with print and non-print materials;
Promote a lifetime of learning by providing materials on a variety of subjects;
Promote reading for pleasure by providing materials on a variety of subjects;
Provide materials that treat the personal questions and problems of young adults relating to difficult life decisions with respect;
Provide information on current political and social issues to help students become informed citizens;
Provide instruction and support to students and staff in the use of library materials to enable them to become capable library users throughout their lives.
The library is open from 7:30 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. Special arrangements can be made for after- school use with a twenty-four hour notice.

Reference- Finding information for class assignments of personal interests.
Research - Locating and organizing information for research projects.
Library Skills - How to use the library and the materials stored there.
Inter-Library Loan - Borrowing materials from other libraries
Personal Reading Advisory
Photocopying - $.10 per copy
Computers
Internet - As indicated by the Saco Board of Education
Library materials may be borrowed by students for the following time periods, staff may borrow materials as needed. Inter-library loans may be arranged.
Reserve books - as indicated
Circulating books - two weeks; may be renewed
Reference books - overnight by individual arrangement
